Burt's Bees

INAUGURAL CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT,  WHOLESALE CATALOGS

burtsbees.com

When Yola Carlough—then Director of Social Responsibility—called us about designing Burt’s Bees’ inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report back in 2009, we were excited.

Burt's sustainability leadership is way ahead of other personal care brands.

They are Carbon Neutral and have not sent any waste to landfill since 2010. They have a culture with sustainability at its core. They’re seriously committed to sustainable packaging, including high levels of post-consumer recycled content. They’re transparent about their natural content.

The 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, for which we collaborated with journalist/novelist/tech enthusiast and chihuahua rescuer Steven Kotler, became the basis for ongoing work that has included several CSR updates, and three wholesale catalogs. (It also became an excuse for several not-so-productive meetings with Yola in which we drank wine, watched movies, and generally put the world to rights.)
